INCREDIBLE!!!
Lol. I sort of had a feeling Malachai would interpret that as lives elves or dwarves or mermaids or something.
And man, at the beginning I thought Axe Cop himself was the epitome of badassery and manliness, but Malachai is constantly coming up with awesome challengers to that title.
Also, hooray for happy retcons! The original mermaid story is still my favorite, but Malachai didn’t need that burden on his soul just yet.
*I have no idea how the word “lives” got in there. Please disregard.
Diversity!
You know, I always imagined that the mermaid that Axe Cop killed was a guy. Is that sexist?
I loved mermen and mermaids at that age too.
The only thing that disappoints me about today’s comic is that we probably wont be able to see the truly epic fight between the king of all time and the giant evil angel! I bet the angel would look so cool, too!
Haha. I guess I’ll think about it really hard tonight so I can dream the fight instead!
@ Mate - I thought the same thing. At first, I was thinking that maybe Axe Cop needed to slow down just a bit, as the innocent bodies are piling up.
Good to see he was able to throw a healin’ on her with the horn.
Why is it that Axe Cop’s partners are getting progressively more powerful, to the extent that Axe Cop himself seems to have pretty insignificant powers?
@Mate: I thought it was a guy as well, and maybe it was, with Malachai only now specifying a gender.
@Joodicator: Axe Cop doesn’t need powers to be badass. He is badass personified. While the people around him have tons of superpowers he has realized that true badassery comes not from powers but from intellect. This is why he, being armed only with an axe, his quick thinking and his ability to inspire greatness in others, can take on such powerful beings as psydrozon, evilfatsozon, evil vampire man baby kid etc.
PS. I too want to see the epic battle between the king of all time and the gigant evil angel.
Also I love how this comic paints the whole idea of different races of humans as ridiculous.
Take *that* Aquaman! It can be cool, you’re just not doing it right! I loved this. Axe Cop is such an inspiring leader; I’m glad he found a way to un-kill the mermaid.
@Solamente Dave and @Eric: Axe Cop is to his team what Batman is to the Justice League.
Oops, that was meant to reply to @Joodicator and @theCroc
Horay, the mermaid has come back to life! Al hail the King of All Time.
“Plunge!...Shiv! Skewer! Stick! Shank! Poke!” lol I love the sound effects!!
Oh! Does this mean Axey can bring the elephant back to life too!?
Guess Malachai felt bad about Axe Cop killing an innocent. Little kids always know how to solve problems..
Didn’t her head get chopped off?
:redheart:
Nice to see Axe Cop fixing his destructive behavior with unicorn magic…
@David - just you try calling him “Axey” to his face. I can only imagine what the sound effect might be a moment later.
I wonder how long it will be before someone develops a God complex with that thing. I also appreciate how Axe Cop prefers to solve problems the hard way by recruiting help to fight a bigger foe instead of wishing himself stronger. Only a real warrior would. As much of a cop-out this saga turned out to be, you have to give Malachai credit for giving Axe Cop more opportunities to fight instead of simply letting the magic do absolutely everything.
To people that say Axe Cop’s allies are more powerful than him: NAE!
Axe Cop’s power knows no bounds. Remember, he has different fighting forms. When he has a lemon, he becomes AXE COP with lemon. When charred by fire, he becomes infinitely powerful AXE COP FIRE!
We don’t know the true extent of his abilities because he doesn’t want to show the extent of his power just yet!
Also, Axe Cop’s true power is making powerful allies from anybody. Indeed, this is a power that should be feared over all others.
There’s a bit of subtext here. Axe Cop undid his wrong without admitting it to the one person to whom it mattered most. Rather than begging for the King’s forgiveness, he secretly revives his daughter and asks for his aid by taking advantage of the King’s feelings in the wake of this alleged miracle. Axe Cop may be chivalrous in believing in strength in numbers, but there’s a darker side to him that we may now only be seeing.
Also, I want to see how he makes it up to the zoo patrons and that poor, defenseless elephant.
