and here i thought nobody could do that dance sexier
I have never understood the word brilliant as I do now. Ring of Fire eh? Awesome. Baby music? Awesome. The drawing of the “western music” singer? Awesome. I have to agree with Malachai here- I think country is hideous too. If only I could use it to kill bad guys…
I’ve found that most people hate country music (the sane ones, anyway) but love Johnny Cash. That’s his super-power.
Ouch!
Western music… Baby music… What’s the difference?
For the record I LOVE Country Music, and I intend to get Malachai to love it as he grows up and realizes the finer things in life.
So he hates country/western, but Johnny Cash’s ring of fire is the ONLY song he likes aside from those by The Axe?
Only Axe Cop can pull that off.
Axe Cop forgot the third kind of hideous music: ABBA.
It is hard to think of a more perfect song to be Axe Cop’s favourite than ‘Ring of Fire.’
Baby Man move #2 as done by Axe Cop made me literally snort. Shake that bootay, Axey.
Hideous Song Attack… “The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.” Very wise, Axe Cop; we have much to learn from you.
Let’s give it up for DJ Ralphie R on the turntables!
Wait, Wrinkles is spelled with a W… Curses!
If there is ever a time that I want to turn down an invitation to dance, I will simply state that bad guys usually attack whenever I do.
lol hideous music
@Severely Awesome
Actually, most Johnny Cash fans I know normally can’t stand country music (or “western music”, as Axe Cop puts it) but have no problem with it when Johnny sang it. I don’t really know why this is, but seems to apply to every Cash fan I’ve ever met.
Go Ethan! Make sure to teach that boy an appreciation for Country and Western music. Honestly, if he likes Cash, it’s just a gateway to the genre at large.
Most people who like Johnny Cash but “hate country” are misinformed as to the definition of country music. Big & Rich and Toby Keith are not country. They’re crappy pop music. Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline; that’s country.
Please note: Johnny Cash was one of the first people inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a very good reason. He plays rock and roll - which, for some inexplicable reason has come to be called country these days. But “Ring of Fire” was a hit he had during his rock-n-roll days at the immortal Sun Records studio in Memphis alongside his colleagues Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, and Carl Perkins. He also wrote songs and collaborated lots with this young writer named Bob Dylan.
In short, Axe Cop - and by extension, Malachai - has awesome taste. But teach him to dance. Dancing is macho and awesome.
Did Malachai really refer to it as “hideous” music? That’s fantastic.
Q and Bergerjacques are correct. And for those of us born after 1960, Cash is referred to as the ‘First Punk’.
@Ethan whole strip made me laugh on a day when I really needed one.
This is the video I always think of when I see Baby Man dance.

If they ever do a movie… they need to put this girl in the costume just for the dance.
Make sure you people are listening to the Axe Cop Podcast: CHOP! http://chopcast.com
@nlcast someone needs to make a Baby Man 3D animated model and mocap that dance, it would be perfect.
Man, I never woulda guessed how many Axe Cop readers are also impassioned country fans!
Q has good taste!
are there any “newer” country musicians who don’t completely suck?
@ o0o - Gwyneth Paltrow. Ah hahahahahahahahaha ha ha…ha…ha. *crickets chirping* Well, I thought it was funny.
If Axe Cop’s taste reflects Malachai’s…
Malachai has good taste ;D
