Awww
Wow, when you said “a big development in he Axe Cop universe,” you weren’t kidding!
Awww, that’s sweet.
This is the first kiss in the entire comic, isn’t it?
@Bug Pope I am pretty sure it is. I would remember. Drawing people kissing and hugging is hard.
People joke about the “misogyny” of six-year-old boys, but the whole inclusion of Best Fairy Ever on the team shows something else about the male-six-year-old mindset which the entire strip bears out.
To hang with Axe Cop, you have to have something cool about you. The uncool are quickly tossed aside, killed off, or transformed into something cooler.
Thus, just being female is not enough to rate; like everyone else on the Axe Team, you have to meet Malachi’s ever-changing definition of what is cool.
Best Fairy Ever is obviously qualified as cool. Even the name Malachi gave her makes it obvious.
I now find Sockarang a much more sympathetic character. I’m worried this romance is star-crossed on multiple levels, particularly with regard to his inevitable future pairing with Axe Cop. There is a sense of tragedy here.
Everything about this is hilarious. I love the idea of Sockarang being some kind of teen idol who has to chase girls away.
When I was a teenager I used to spend a lot of time alone “making potions”.
One year in and already we have shipping. I wonder what kind of conflict this will birth.
this is… awwwww…some
panel 2 would give me nightmares if i were a girl XD
This is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever read. :3
Aw, it’s so poignant.
How sweet and tragic at the same time!
Very sweet
Urge to Rule 34 though… urge to destroy…
A most perfect Ask Axe Cop for, well, being somewhat near to Valentine’s Day. This entire idea sprang from Malachai? Like the justly famous Ask Axe Cop about the mermaids, sometimes your brother stumbles onto some rather poignant moments. Were he your age, it would seem sweetly trite - sprung from a child Malachai’s age and there is evidence of a genuinely good writer developing.
Of course, I still want Best Fairy Ever to fly up some guy’s nose and punch out his brains.
In Ask Axe Cop 16, does Sockarang hate himself? :(
This is adorable—although the second panel is somewhat creepy.
I appreciate the inclusion of safety goggles. Clearly the influence of Chemists on this comic grows ever more powerful.
(One might ask if Sockarang should also employ latex socks to protect his socks.)
I feel so sorry for Sockarang now!
@colintron AAC 16 is a hypothetical response, so it is not something that actually takes place. It is what Axe Cop says he would theoretically do if he actually wanted to get married. If Sockarang and BFE’s relationship lasts, then I guess Axe Cop will have to change his plans.
I currently have a beard and tried wearing socks on my arms but not a single woman came asking for my love. What’s Sockarang got that I don’t?
The B.F.E. !!
