I just bought Book Three, and Ethan included a translation (the wall is also easier to read in print form).

And there’s nothing inconsistent about what the writers are doing!  Remember, this is AXE COP answering the questions, not them.  Any “inconsistencies” are things Mr. Smartist put in there in case bad guys read this.
