It’s so cool to see this featured! I’ve met Mr. Ayers a couple of times and he’s an absolutely lovely person with an amazing outlook on life. Both he and his Daily Zoo books are so inspiring smile

I met Chris at Comic Con this year and gave him an Axe Cop tpb.  He had never heard of it.  I told him how it influenced our work.

Is the Daily Zoo a fighting zoo?  Then it would be even more awesome!

Dear Ethan and Malachai,
What awesomeness you have created! Ethan, it was a pleasure meeting you at Comic Con last month. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and certainly thank you for the copy of Axe Cop. I have enjoyed it tremendously! The creativity, humor, art are all page-turners. Your legion of fans who are jealous of the axe, the hat, and especially the mustache just increased by one.
Since finishing reading your book, I’ve been meaning to contact you to express my thanks and admiration…and so when I finally got around to it, you can imagine my surprise upon seeing a friendly pink face in your first RecomMonday. My thanks to you for the kind words and helping to spread the Daily Zoo word. I’m honored and humbled that you and Malachai have enjoyed the books. Yes, I too would LOVE to have had the budget to feature more (or all!) of the 365 images at a larger scale. The plan is still to periodically give the “outcasts” some higher-res love on my blog…it’s just that I’m a notoriously bad blogger. Still the plan, though! (And I’m toying with the idea of someday doing a limited edition featuring all the sketches at full-size…)
In terms of my health, I’m happy to report that things are still good. This past July marked six years of being in remission. And I’m happy to report that the Daily Zoo is still going strong too - today is Day 1,958. I hope to publish DZ3 in the not-too-disant future.
Thanks again for introducing yourself and Axe Cop to me. Keep being awesome!
Chris
