I like the obvious Garfield influence on the character designs.
Those are some cute kittens. I’ll feel bad when something terrible inevitability happens to them. Oh well.
Polygamist Siberian Witch Doctor Cat Brothers!!!
LOVE this page!
Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob and Bob. That’s a lot of Bob.
Do they have numbers or something?
The bob kittens remind me of George Foreman who named all his kids George.
And it’s not polygamy. It’s polyandry.
This is a fantastically drawn piece of art! I found myself scrolling down the page as I read with new things consistently unfolding. It felt as though I were reading a series of panels yet it was a single work of art. Brilliantly designed Ethan. Wonderful work.
FanBoy is right, polyandry is when a woman has two or more husbands—usually brothers as opposed to polygamy where a man has more than one wife.
As for the comic itself, I love this page. Already I love the witch doctor brothers. Also, all those kittens are absolutely adorable.
Heheh, iFish….
Now that’s a splash page and an excellent use of scrolling reveals. Funny thing about the variant on the Ifish logo thing, before Magical Moose kindle clued me in, I thought it meant that the cats were pagan, being witch doctors, and had taken a bite out of the fish christian symbol - which I thought was a really weird, out of left field kind of detail, but I was willing to roll with it. Thanks to the Moose for pointing out to me what should have been plain and obvious.
I *love* the bottom part of this comic—the eleven cute kittens named Bob is both hilarious and adorable. Nice one!
These are the BEST villains. Excuse me while I root for them.
At first I thought that Willy was laying on some cat skin pillow, which would be a very -evil- thing for a cat to do. However, I then realized that I was looking at his arms—that is one buff cat.
Also, for the record, according to the repository of all human knowledge, Wikipedia:
“Polygamy (from πολύς γάμος polys gamos, translated literally in Late Greek as “often married”) is a marriage which includes more than two partners. When a man is married to more than one wife at a time, the relationship is called polygyny, and there is no marriage bond between the wives; and when a woman is married to more than one husband at a time, it is called polyandry, and there is no marriage bond between the husbands. If a marriage includes multiple husbands and wives, it can be called group marriage.”
WOW!! This is another exciting episode. I’m getting fan of Axe cop episodes. I enjoyed this part and really like kittens pretty much. Thanks
Bob has no mouth, and he must scream.
The secret origins of The Oatmeal’s Bob cats?
If the alt-text can be believed, then The Snowards have over a billion children named Bob on the snow planet.
Also, I forgot to ask—are those the skulls of small furry mammals that adorn the two story throne?
Someday, Malachi needs to see the musical “Paint Your Wagon”
I love the character design on Lulu. Even in the Axe Cop universe, she’s already seen everything there is to see.
Bob tally:
“Bob Snoward”: 1,000,000,000+
“Beautiful Girly Bob”: 10
kitten “Bob”: 11
Total: 1,000,000,021+
...I only know 3 people named “Bob.” I guess I should get out more.
@Aaron
So it would do people well to realize it’s an umbrella term, along with neutering. You don’t spay or castrate/spay your pets, you spay or castrate them. Jeez Bob Barker get it right.
I love Willy’s Mac(kerel)!
I have to say Bob and Bob are pretty cute, but I don’t like Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, or Bob. Bob and Bob are just okay
