@Ethan
Why? Batman can breath in space.
It looks to me like that pterodactyl is at a lower altitude than all the other dinosaurs. Clearly he’s not high enough to need a helmet yet. He’s at the exact border of space.
Hey Ethan, just curious, but was Graystone’s question at the end one that you asked Malachai? It looks like it could be a direct quote.
Dude guy! That’s exactly it. This is the first comic in EVER to stand up on the same platform and level as Calvin and Hobbes
Horn to summon an army of dinosaurs from outer space? That’ll be FIVE DOLLARS.
two things:
1) I love the fact that although Gray Stone is a super genius, Axe Cop totally schools him in dinosaur history. I guess Axe Cop is the smartest man in the world according to that one McNinja strip.
2) this all sounds suspiciously close to the origin story of Scientology…
you know, that is what i used to think dinosuars did…
I wish my town had half of the stores Axe Cop’s town does.
Grey Stone did catch on remarkably fast as someone else pointed out though Sam.
Sometimes genius isn’t just about having all the facts.
It irks me a little when pterosaurs are drawn with bat/dragon wings, but I bother myself when I worry about things like that when said pterosaurs are wearing -space helmets- and a dinosaur horn’s sound can travel through space to reach them. I should just enjoy it… because it’s sheer awesomeness.. especially the shape of the continents on dinosaur planet.
In reference to the pterosaur-helmet issue, I think I’d have been fine if none of the pterosaurs had helmets. Maybe that’s just an aspect of their species, you know?
Don’t look at me that way. Science hasn’t proven that pterosaurs couldn’t survive in space. We only have dinosaur bones to work with, not dinosaur flesh. Dinosaurs could’ve had organic steel skin.
Don’t look at me that way!
I can just imagine millions of years ago a board room full of the best and the brightest of the dinosaur people discuss the ever growing volcano problem. Then, in the back of the room, the young newcomer pterodactyl speaks up for the first time of his ambitious plan to leave earth to find a new paradise. Though the older dinosaurs refused to listen to him at first, but his youthful energy and that sparkle in his eyes win them over. And thus did the work begin for the great dinosaur exodus…
@ Basinx
“FIVE DOLLARS”? You don’t pay money for dinosaurs!
I think Graystone may be my favorite Axe Cop character.
I don’t say it enough, you guys are hilarious. I love reading your comments. Thanks for posting them.
Of course, since these dinosaurs come from another planet Graystone should be real good at finding them.
I have always loved this web comic, and i have to say Ethan, you really have outdone yourself with this one. epic pterodactyl welding shop and exodus. definitely buying the new book when it comes out.
I am all for alt-text.
I love the last panel. It shows that Malachai has become aware of the absurdity of his writing but is still able to embrace that same absurdity. If Malachai chooses to continue writing Axe Cop, it will be interesting to see how his ever-developing skills as a writer influence the world of the comic.
I smell Astrosaurs.
