This series pleases me. I haven’t read the comic, but the show is A+ Awesome.

yeah it was awesome that’s all I have to say. This show is awesome.

This show/comic and the webcomic Dead winter feel like they belong in the same universe, except Dead Winter would be like ‘The Flash’ and The Walking Dead would be like Batman…The Flash CAN be serious when he wants to, but he just chooses not to be most of the time, while The Walking Dead is much more serious and darker.

Since season 1 has ended, I’d like to hear people’s overall feelings and thoughts on the finale as well as what they are predicting for season 2!

I was…supremely disappointed in the CDC arc.  My biggest complaint was the demystifying of the zombies. However, I’m also going to try and keep a positive attitude about it.  They had no clue if they would be picked up for a season 2 when they were filming and editing.  They very well could have thought that this show would only last through the first six episodes, so they wanted to cram as much in as possible.  (A note to non-comic readers - there is no CDC plot in the comic, and it takes weeks for Rick to convince Shane and the rest of the survivors to leave camp.)  Additionally, well, Kirkman is giving his blessings to this series, so if he’s okay with some of these changes, I should be too, right?

Only, I remain disappointed.  What in the world are they doing with Shane and Lori?  Shane’s fall from grace is so much slower in the comic.  It seems to me like the writers really want the audience to hate Shane and embrace Lori, rather than leaving them both as very flawed (and thus, very interesting and human) people.

However, Glenn continues to be awesome and we need more of him on the show. Seriously. Glenn = joy. 

Will I tune in, quivering with anticipation when season 2 starts up?  You bet your sweet silver dollar I will!  My predictions for season 2:
1. Hershel’s Farm
2. Prison Arc
3. Michonne

I know Darabont and Kirkman are both super excited for Michonne to show up, and stated at SDCC the earliest she would appear is season 2.  Since she showed up during the prison arc, it stands to reason that we’ll get at least the beginning of that in the second season unless prison doesn’t start till season 3.  But with the quick pace they’ve been moving at, I would be surprised if we don’t hit the prison by mid-to-late-season 2.

I loved the 6 episodes but I wasn’t crazy about the finale.  Didn’t seem necessary.
