Heck yeah! Less than a month away, so I think it’s time to get this thread started! :D
Roll call: Who’s going? Where are you staying? Food tips?
I found several awesome things foodwise in 2010. Mission SoMa is likely out of the way for most of you, but it’s on the corner of our condo’s block. HUGE portions and darn reasonable pricing. Be prepared to wait, though, as it’s usually packed and they make the food as it’s ordered. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available in addition to the traditional omnivore fare. http://www.themissionsd.com/index.html
Back behind the Hyatt hotel towers is a little shopping area called Seaport Village where you can find Margarita’s Kitchen. It’s a little Mexican restaurant that was relatively cheap and definitely decent food for the price. Also vegetarian friendly, though I’m not sure about gluten-free or vegan options. It’s a nice, low key, quiet break from the hustle and bustle of Comic Con. http://www.margaritaskitchen.com/
A very awesome thing I discovered (sadly, -after- the con was over) is that there is a food delivery service that will deliver direct to your hotel! Register on the website, place your order, and it’s brought right to you. Delivery fee was less than $5 if I remember correctly, so if you’re splitting the order among friends, the fee is nominal at best. This is pretty great when you’re too tuckered out to leave your room and just want the food to come to you rather than try to brave the crowds. http://www.fooddeliverysandiego.com/ (I highly recommend ordering from Royal India, btw!)
