Poison Flower Man

Posted in Blog

I'm not sure if Poison Flower Man will be a big character in the Axe Cop universe, but there he is.  Also, Cyborg Monkey 181510120 is just an obnoxious name.

I'm auctioning another piece on eBay here

Thanks to everyone who is bidding on these.  My income can be sporadic and unpredictable so posting art and selling it is a good way to get money coming in on a more regular basis.  If you would like to commission a piece, let me know how much you want to spend and what you are looking for and maybe we can work something out.  Email me using the CONTACT page on this site.

Scott Kurtz guest episode!

Posted in Blog

My pal Scott Kurtz over at PVP returned the favor after I did a week of guest strips for him featuring Axe Cop and LOLbat.  He decided to do this episode in the more traditional web comic genre, brooding/autobiographical.  That was a joke, this made me laugh.  Please visit PVP, I'm honored to have one of the web's great cartoonists do an Axe Cop episode.

Also, in another attempt to make a little money on the side I've posted another original piece on eBay.  Hey, Axe Cop is getting a TV show so perhaps this will be a good investment.  Spend all your kids' colege money on it:

Also, I did a little interview over at the Daily BLAM! about the coming FOX series.  I don't know a whole lot right now, and am sworn to secrecy on a lot of other stuff, but I gave my best first exclusive interview on the topic to the always faithful Keven Skinner.

Alright… hopefully next week we get on with this DOGS story.  I remain way too behind.

Sorry about the late post!  As I mentioned last week, I would not be able to post this week's episode until I got off my plane, which I just did this evening.  So here is the new page…

Next week we get a guest episode from Scott Kurtz of PVP!  I'm looking forward to seeing what he works up.

Also, there is this!

Oh man, a little late on today's post!  The Dogs continues. Thanks for all the kind words and congrats people have sent about the FOX series!  It's pretty exciting.  As more things develop I'll post them here.

If you live in Boston I will be at ROFLcon this weekend, so come say hi and… well I really have no idea what to expect.  I will have books for sale.

Alright, I need to get to drawing so there is some comics posting when I am gone.  I'll warn you now that next week's episode will probably post either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, because my laptop is out of commission and I will not be home until Tuesday night.  So… be ready for that delay!

Drawing is Hard

Posted in Blog

Axe Cop is of course reflected by Malachai in this episode.  Malachai does not consider himself very good at drawing, so he decided Axe Cop is also not very good at drawing.  I think Junior is good enough though.  There is a big Axe Cop related announcement happening any day now, I thought i t would be made by now I so I could post about it, but I guess I gotta wait!  Ah well.  See you next Tuesday.

WOOP!  after typig this blog, it was announced!  Axe Cop gets a show on FOX Late Night!!

the Animal Man!

Posted in Blog

Well, I keep getting behind, and not able to get Kailey her page in time to color it, so then I have to do something else that does not require coloring so that there is new content.  I need to get back on track!  But, blessing in disguise, because I finally drew one of my favorite Axe Cop Presents tales… I have been excited to draw this one.  Of course Malachai named this character “Animal Man” and I added “the” the beginning because Animal Man exists already. Different enough?  We'll see.  He has given me partial material for a part two, so we might get more adventures of the Animal Man down the road.

If you want me to draw you a custom avatar AND help fight cancer, now is your chance.

Until next week…

Axe Cop and LOLbat all week!

Posted in Blog

Hey, if you have not already been over to PVP, go, now!.  Axe Cop has been starring in a series of strips with LOLbat, every day starting on Monday.

Malachai had just about as much writing involvement in this series as he usually does.  Of course I wrote LOLbat's lines and Scott Kurtz gave some input as well.  It was a lot of fun to make, and Kailey did great on the colors as usual.

Thanks to everyone who came out to ECCC.  What an awesome show!  Did you see the announcement?

I'm hoping someone got video of our panel.  It was pretty much out of control.  Nobody puts a panel on like Malachai.

Axe Cop and LolBat!!

Posted in Blog

Oh man, two big announcements today!!

OK, first I know that you probably noticed that THE DOGS is still on hold, but I drew you a brand new Ask Axe Cop, and I think we were way over due for a new one.

Well, next week we will be taking off from THE DOGS as well.  In fact Axe Cop won't even be here, he will be over at www.PvPonline.com teaming up with LolBat for the entire week!

This will be a 5-part strip written mostly by Malachai, with input from Scott Kurtz and myself.

On top of all that, Axe Cop volume 3 is here!!  So please go pick yourself up a copy.  Foreword by Damon Lindelof, Pinups by greats like Rob Schrab, Jason Howard, Kris Straub and Mike Nelson (yes, Mike did me an MSPaint pin up).

Wha else?  I will be at Emerald City Comic Con, and so will Malachai!  Come see us at the Topatoco booth.  Malachai will be there Saturday and Sunday.  We will also be doing a panel on Sunday in room 3AB at 1:00pm.  I will also be on Dark Horse's “Powered by Creators” panel at 4:00pm in room 4C1-2.

I think that is enough.  Next week… LolBat!

Chop the Evil

We are back with the second installment of Mean Mr. Tree Face.  If you didn't do it last week, check out Greg and Kenny's comic the Ray Gun.

I thank Kenny and Greg for giving me a break.  I'm sorry the site, already moving so slow at one page a week, has needed these breaks.  It's making the Dogs really take a while to get through, but I guess the point is not always to blaze through a story.  Balancing three comic projects at once has proven to be a lot to take on, plus other things in my life.

Anyway, it is the end of a pretty exhausting day for me as I post this, so for now I'll just say… enjoy.
