The sick bug got me, so as soon as I post this I’m laying back down. Thanks for reading, and thanks to Parry for getting this song done. I think it’s my favorite one so far.
You can listen to the complete version of the song here.

I’m excited to finally present to you BIRDS OF PREY! The first ever Axe Cop mini-game. To answer a couple inevitable questions…
1. YES it can be beaten.
2. NO, I will not give you any hints
3. The first person to WIN and email the victory screen to info@axecop.com gets this sumi ink drawing of Axe Cop riding a bear! UDATE: Congrats to the winner, Colin T.!
4. If the embedded game is not working for you, you can download the game for free here: Windows version, MAC version. I promise there is nothing malicious in that software, it’s just the game.
5. If some of the birds freeze in place, I told the game makers to keep the glitch because I like how old it makes it feel like an old glitchy NES game. You can still win if the birds freeze in place.
Huge, huge thanks to TBA Games! for making this game a reality and Parry Gripp for the amazing music, and of course Dave DeAndrea for the great voice work. This game is hilarious and I can’t get that song out of my head.
Also, PLEASE DO ME A SOLID! My other comic, Bearmageddon has been climbing the charts over at TWC.com. I am trying hard to get it to hit #1. I have never made it to the top 10 and I really want to see the effect it has on my traffic to reach the top 10. Please take a moment to vote, It is super simple and doesn’t require any sign ups or registering. You can vote DAILY. We went from spot #650 to #144 yesterday alone!
Good luck with those birds and thanks for reading Axe Cop.

I’ve been pretty excited to get to this page because, though it may be a simple game, it is the first Axe Cop game ever and Axe Cop was made for video games. Yes, there is a game. It is still in the works. We were going to release it today but we still need to work out some kinks. So… I released it for beta testing to my $5+ monthly Patreon members. If you want to join up you can play it right now. First person to beat it and send me proof gets a free sumi ink commission. It’s not easy to beat, but it fits in with the storyline if you pull it off.
For the rest of you, the game will be out next week! YEAH! Huge thanks to Erica and Cameron at TBAGames.net for making this game a reality, and to Parry Gripp for that awesome song.

I’m just going to say right now, we have something pretty cool planned for next week. Not just a song, but something else. Something we have never done before. Patreon members got a sneak peek today.
If you follow my Bearmageddon page on Facebook, you may have seen the recent influx of bear memes. Or you may have seen them elsewhere, they are sort of exploding right now. I put some more bear related stuff up in the store.
Also, I may have already mentioned it, but we are converting Bearmageddon to mobile format for Tapas, Tabulit and Webtoon. Download the app or click the links below. If you have never read Bearmageddon, now is a great time to start. This is a great format and really fun to read this way. You can also find Axe Cop comics on Tabulit. We plan on converting Axe Cop to this format eventually as well.
Next week is a big surprise! See you then.

I tell Parry to make a quick, simple little jingle for this page and he makes a full on metal song about steam. So great!
This week something really awesome happened to Dave DeAndrea. You should know Dave as the original voice of Axe Cop on YouTube and in the motion comics. He also sang as Axe Cop on last week’s song, Foxes the Size of Couches. But it was his voice work on the Battleship game that got the attention of Rhett and Link. He was on their show Ear Biscuits last week and it was hilarious. Dave and I heard Rhett and Link were fans of Axe Cop, so I sent Dave along with this drawing of them on Axe Cop’s team.
While we are on the topic of me drawing stuff for people. I have decide to open up commissions for the rest of April. I’m only taking 20 orders, closing on May 1st. I’ll also be doing a limited number of digital commissions (much like the one above) each month. If you’ve ever wanted me to draw you something, now’s the time! And if you are one of my Patreon subscribers, be sure to get a discount code from me first!

The Songster isn’t afraid to genre-jump midset. He is, afterall, the Songster, not the rockster or the R&Bster.
Funfact: in today’s song the banjo solo is played by me. I recorded it on my phone and sent it to Parry. My wife got me a banjo for Christmas so I have been playing it for a few months. This is my first time playing, or recording publicly. I love playing banjo and it is coming a lot more naturally to me than expected, though I have a long way to go. I’m no Scruggs.
Read the next page, get all my pages in high res and more on Patreon starting at only $2/month.
In other news… I think I am going to stop producing Ask Axe Cop episodes, at least until I finish this story. I am doing too much right now. Doing so many different projects I am not finishing any of them. Songster pages will keep coming out on Thursdays and Bearmageddon always comes out on Wednesdays.
Ethan
Well, there is no song on this page, but it’s coming.
Next week I will be taking off because I’m in Oregon. In fact tonight is my event at the Egyptian Theater in Coos Bay!
I’m on vacation, so I’m not gonna write any more. Thanks for reading!

One of my favorite new developments about Axe Cop in this story is this. When he is taken to a concert, he listens to Johnny Cash using in-ear speakers so that he can cope with the annoying music. It sounds like something I would do. Axe Cop is such a great grumpy old man when he wants to be.
I also want to thank Malachai for not making Axe Cop have an entire band with instruments and amps and things. That is so much work to draw. PT the Rapper, I welcome you as a nice, easy band to draw. Plus, Axe Cop hates rap so you are going to one zany, hilarious mismatched pair.
By the way, if you have never read the print-exclusive Axe Cop trades (volumes 2, 4 and 6) I am having a President’s Day sale this week, bundle them all together and save 20%. Just go to the page for any of the books and click on the bundle option.
As always, you can get pages in high resolution, read the bonus content blogs, have a virtual pipe with me and get pages a week early when you join Patreon.
