I can’t believe we have finally reached the wedding day in the comic. I completely forgot to post today because I had some meetings and was not home all day. Here is your page, better late than never. I brought my new Windows Surface with me today, and every time I ended up sitting and waiting, I worked, and I managed to get 3/4 of the final page of this story completed! I am in love with my Surface with Manga Studio installed. It is the portable drawing tablet I always dreamed of.
The 5th episode of Axe Cop aired on Saturday. Originally I wrote the first draft of the outline for this one. A good amount changed, but this is a great episode. It definitely brings out the darker, weirder side of Axe Cop which is creepy and hilarious. There were a couple little details in this episode I was not crazy about, but in general I loved it.
I like this episode especially because it is not a story taken directly from the comics. It just takes elements and makes a new episode, and that is fun to see come together. I like the take on Bad Santa too. Cobras on his sleigh, I am proud to say, was my idea. We called Malachai to ask him what Bad Santa’s plan is and Malachai said without skipping a beat “to kill God and become Jesus.” He said it like it was so obvious we shouldn’t even have had to ask. Also, the ending is from an unused answer to an Ask Axe Cop question. Someone asked what the best day, and worst day of Axe Cop’s life was. Malachai said the day his parents died. He was sad they died, but happy he didn’t have to eat candy canes any more. Then he said he was just medium, but it was the happiest he has ever been… in my notes was the line “medium is the happiest I’ll ever be.” I never made it into a comic, but it worked so well in this episode I’m glad we got to use it. It was such a dark, weird answer. It fit here nicely.
Oh yeah, and some of you guessed it last week, I did the voice of the Chubby doll in the babysitting episode. In the Bad Santa episode, I was the voice of the upset merman.
Next Saturday is the last episode of the first set of 6! It’s the summer finale. I’m excited to see this episode, starring the rabbit who walks and eats coconuts. Don’t worry, another 6 are already being produced, but as of now I have no clue when they will air.
Oh yeah! And the first appearances of some of my Axe Cop Wedding contributors are appearing here. Above we have Adam Juda (aka Dr. Googleman) and Garth Matthams on the left. Also, Thor the Bassett Hound.

Pink Flower is adorable, also that comment about Axe Cop talking to your dad being a little freaky made me laugh.
Last week’s episode was darkly hilarious, although I must say, you guys did a great job in making Bad Santa scare the crap out of me–especially since I was expecting the version that plays his guitar really loud to hurt people’s ears.
the right side of guests are missing feet, especially the diamondhead guy.
Oh yeah whoops that was supposed to be inked in. FIXED.
My spidey senses tell me something is fishy with that last panel…
Pink Flower reminds me of “Pinkmützchen”:
got a quick question here, it seems that foxadhd has decided to region lock the axecop videos. i wastched the first three but can manage to run the latest two. Aside from hulu, is there anywhere else its hosted for canadians?
What mattykins said!
I’m sorry, yeah they region locked it. I don’t know if you can get it anywhere if you are outside the US. I assume it will be available at some point but I have no idea what the plan is with that.
What??? So if i don´t live in the USA, i can´t watch the axe cop episodes online?
Ill bet you were not thrilled about one specific beach shot.
yeah that and a specific line about parents and hell. Just felt very un-Axe Cop.
Welp I did enjoy Axe Cop this week but I’ve been having to watch it on Hulu now… it seems Raycom which owns a bunch of FOX stations has decided to outright not air the ADHD block. Which is a real shame… due to violence and sexual content it seems… which is totally lame but whatever.
I figured I’d get the word out since I had to track someone from my local TV station and ask them why since there was no explanation anywhere.
Bummer. Yeah it is too bad it’s getting the MA rating, I don’t think it is merited. They are lumping it in with the whole block now, so anything that happens in a short or any other ADHD show, Axe Cop gets content warnings for.
I just love the writing.. it’s so unsurprising that some of the original bits came from your notes.. it’s just perfectly in-character and captures the magic
I am curious about Wexter though.
He’s appeared a few times now, but he doesn’t have sunglasses.
Is that just a change that will always be that way or are they holding off the sunglasses for a later episode. I only ask because the Wexter action figure has sunglasses and I assume those are for the show and not just the comics.
No the current toyline are exclusively based on the comics. In the show, they chose to remove his sunglasses. The EP’s felt that it just didn’t animate well and they did not fit well on his head. That was a complaint by the toy makers too. A T Rex’s weird shaped head is not really made for aviators. You can cheat them in when you draw a comic, but apparently it gets a lot more difficult in 3 dimensions.
Interesting, could that also be part of the reason flute cop doesn’t become dinosaur solider?
Not that I’m complaining II love flute cop… obviously. Lol
That water-guard is perhaps the coolest character, of many good ones, on the page.
Also is that a Mars crater reflected in Wexter’s glasses?
I dare say that is one freakin dapper looking Bassett Hound. Love it!
